Instrument Information
5th grade band students need to get an instrument as soon as possible. This can be done in 3 possible ways. 1.) The most common way for students to get an instrument is by renting one from a music store. Michelsen Music in Negaunee calls on our school every other week, and the local stores in town offer rentals as well. Please see the links below. 2.) You may purchase a new/used instrument, or maybe already have one. If you would like me to check it over to make sure it is functioning properly, just send it to school with your child and I would be happy to do so. 3.) If you are unable to afford purchase or rental at this time, please send an email to [email protected] and let me know, and I will put your child on the list to borrow an instrument from the school. We have a decent sized inventory, and I am usually able to find an instrument for everyone who needs one.

All students will also need the essential elements book 1 for beginning band. This is available at all of the music stores listed above. You must specify your child's instrument when ordering. Baritone students should choose Baritone B.C. and Percussionists need to order the complete Percussion book.
